A scary moment for reserve goalkeeper Henk Timmer in Ajax's training camp in Portugal on Tuesday morning. The goalkeeper stepped into a little hole on the training pitch and hurt his ankle.
Timmer is not doing much at the moment it all goes wrong. He's just kicking a ball around when he steps into a little hole. He sprains his left ankle and is no longer able to stand on the leg. It is not clear yet how serious the injury is, but if it is as bad as it hurts, Timmer has a problem. The 'keeper indicates to the physiotherapist that he 'felt something pop'.
The training itself is hard, but not as hard as the day before. Some conditioning exercises and passing drills, before the hard work begins. The players have to pass, jump, cross and finish in a high tempo for ten minutes. Then a position drill follows in which the players can recuperate. After which the big drill begins again.
David Mendes da Silva, Jari Litmanen and Tomas Galasek have to skip the training due to injuries.
