Three Ajax players suffered injuries in the match against Feyenoord last Sunday. Steven Pienaar was hurt the most seriously. He will be out for two to four weeks. Nigel de Jong and Rafael van der Vaart's injuries are less serious.
Nigel de Jong had to be taken off with a headwound above his right eye. He suffered the wound after a challenge by Feyenoord's Gyan. The wound was closed with eight stitches. If the recovery goes according to plan, De Jong is expected to be able to play against De Graafschap on Saturday.
