No playing time for van der Meyde as Holland defeat Argentina

Ajax winger Andy van der Meyde watched his Holland teammates defeat Argentina 1-0, Wednesday evening in the Amsterdam Arena. Arsenal player Giovanni van Bronckhorst scored the only goal in the match.

Van der Meyde saw no playing time. The Ajax player had been hampered by dizzy spells in the days leading up to the friendly.

The Czech Republic, Holland's next opponent in the qualifications for Euro 2004, surprised France and won the friendly in France 0-2. Ajax midfielder Tomas Galasek was substituted fifteen minutes before the end.

Ajax's captain Cristian Chivu and goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont booked a victory with Romania against Slovakia: 2-1.

Hatem Trabelsi's Tunisia defeated Zlatan's Sweden 1-0. Zlatan watched the whole match from the bench.

Petri Pasanen was also a full time reserve for his country Finland, that won 1-0 against Northern Ireland. Liverpool player Sami Hyypia scored for Finland.

The Dutch Olympic team, with Nigel de Jong, lost in Amsterdam to Korea: 0-1.
