Klaas Jan Huntelaar is the undisputed top goal scorer of the Dutch league in the 2005-2006 season. The 22-year old striker scored 33 goals in 34 league matches.
Huntelaar scored 17 goals for sc Heereenveen and 16 for his new club Ajax after he transferred in January.
Huntelaar is the 17th player in the history of the Dutch league to score 30 or more goals. Coen Dillen (PSV) still holds the record with 43 goals in the 1956-1957 season. On the all-time list Huntelaar shares 10th place with Johan Cruijff with 33 goals.
AZ forward Shota Arverladze and Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt finished second with 22 goals each. Kuyt was last season's top scorer with 29 goals.
