Holland lose to Belgium

The Dutch national football team have lost a friendly match against Belgium on Saturday: 0-1. Johnny Heitinga and Wesley Sneijder played the entire 90 minutes.

Johnny Heitinga, one of two Ajax players active in the match, played as Holland's right back. Wesley Sneijder operated as the team's right midfielder. Sneijder was close to scoring a few times with shots from distance. But Holland were unable to break through the Belgian defence.

Rafael van der Vaart was kept out of the match. The Ajax captain was bothered by a minor injury to his abdominal muscles. Other important players for Holland, such as Edgar Davids and Ruud van Nistelrooy were rested or saw limited minutes.

Bart Goor scored the only goal of the match when he hit from the penalty spot. Wilfred Bouma had brought down Mbo Mpenza.
