Meeting an old friend in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Achmed Hossam, better known as Mido, visited Amsterdam on holiday with his family. The Egyptian came to Amsterdam at the start of this century and left an impression both on and off the pitch while only playing one and a half seasons. Mido played under Ronald Koeman at the time, together with his good friend Andy van der Meijde, and took on competitor Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Brian Brobbey appeared to be in good spirits for the press after beating FC Twente. The Ajax striker returned to the match squad on Sunday and immediately earned his place by scoring a goal. "It was a great header, I reckon. I told Kenneth to aim the ball at the far post, and he did. He listened carefully, he always does. I listen to him, too."
Ajax pulled off a major victory in the battle for fifth place on Sunday. The Ajax players emerged victorious despite falling behind at half time. Brian Brobbey headed in the equaliser after 59 minutes, followed by Steven Bergwijn scoring the winning goal from a penalty in the 81st minute.
