Ajax begins the new football season on June 27. At 10.30 a.m., the first public training of the 2010-2011 season will take place at de Toekomst Sports Complex. All Ajax supporters are welcome to attend.
On the day of the first training, Ajax’s new home kit will be introduced on Ajax.nl. Ajax’s brand new jersey will be available at the Official Ajax Fanshop from mid July.
In preparation for the new season, Ajax will play several practice matches. The Cup winner will face such renouned clubs as FC Porto (away, July 18), and Chelsea (home, July 23). Also on July 23, before the Chelsea match, Ajax, in cooperation with Ajax’s Supporters Association, is organising their annual Open Day around the Amsterdam ArenA.
One month after their first training, several important matches are on Ajax’s agenda. On either July 27 or 28, Ajax plays their first qualifying match for the UEFA Champions League. The return match takes place one week later, on August 3 or 4. The draw for the third qualifying round for the Champions League takes place on July 16. The play-offs, which are the last qualifying round, begin on either August 17 or 18.
On Saturday, July 31 (8 p.m.), Ajax has a chance to bring home the first prize of the season. In the Amsterdam ArenA, Ajax will play national champion FC Twente for the Johan Cruyff Plate. One week later, on Sunday, August 8, Ajax starts a new season in the Eredivisie, playing away at FC Groningen. Ajax’s first home game is on Saturday, August 14, against Vitesse.
Besides revealing the new home kit, the first training is a great opportunity to get photos and autographs of the Ajax players. So come to the the new football season’s first activity!
