Ajax sign Czech Republic international Zdenek Grygera

Ajax have contracted defender Zdenek Grygera. The international from the Czech Republic signs for four years. Ajax have also reached agreement with Grygera´s current club. As usual, Ajax do not disclose financial details of the agreement.

Zdenek Grygera (born May 14, 1980) comes from Sparta Prague. With that club he won the national championship in the Czech Republic last season. Grygera also won the national title in the 1998-1999, 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 seasons. Grygera played 119 league matches for Sparta Prague. In those 119 matches he scored 5 goals.

Zdenek Grygera has played in the national team of the Czech Republic since August 2001. He has earned 16 caps and scored 1 goal. He also played 34 youth international matches in which he scored 2 times. In 2001 Grygera won the European championship with the Czech Republic under 20´s.

Zdenek Grygera travels to England today with Ajax for a training camp in England. There Ajax will face Nottingham Forest and Derby County.
