Ajax lost in a friendly against FC Barcelona in Spain on Tuesday. It was 2-1 for the home side, who played the match in a stadium near Alicante. Eto'o scored the goals for Barca, the second being a fabulous one.
Ronald Koeman started with his normal team, except Hatem Trabelsi who was replaced by Anthony Obodai. But after a minute and fifteen seconds, Barcelona had scored. Eto'o put it out of Maarten Stekelenburg's reach.
Sneijder hit the post and so did Rosales, but it was Barcelona who were more effective. Ajax lost the ball and it came to Eto'o and the top goal scorer in Spain did not hesitate. With a flick of his right foot, he left Stekelenburg helpless: 2-0.
In the second half, where both teams were more evenly matched, Koeman brought on seven subs. The most was expected from intern Edgar Manucharyan, but the Armenian forward had to limp off with a presumably broken foot after only 14 minutes. In the penultimate minute, Rasmus Lindgren, captain of Young Ajax, scored a nice goal when he headed in a good cross by Rafael van der Vaart: 2-1.
