Ajax loans out trio to Willem II

Ajax and Willem II have reached an agreement to loan out Richairo Zivkovic, Ruben Ligeon and Lesley De Sa. The three Ajax players will be loaned out to the Tilburg club until June 30, 2016.

Richairo Zivkovic is still under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2019. The centre forward (Assen, September 5, 1996) made his debut in the first team in the sv Urk – Ajax (0-4) cup match on October 28, 2014. He has played in 11 official matches to date in Ajax’s first team, scoring 2 goals. The forward played in 25 Jupiler League games with the Ajax Reserves, scoring 18 times.

Marc Overmars talks about Zivkovic being loaned out: “Our staff, and Richairo himself, all think it is key for his development to get lots of Eredivisie playing time next season. That is why this is a good step for him. He had the possibility to go to several clubs, but we looked at who the coaches were and which style of play was being used. We think that Willem II is the right choice.”

Ruben Ligeon has been loaned out to Willem II, and has also extended his contract with Ajax. His previous contract expired on June 30, 2016. His new contract is from July 1, 2015, until June 30, 2017. An option for Ajax to extend by an additional year has been included in the contract, until June 30, 2018. Ligeon (Amsterdam, May 24, 1992) made his debut in the first team on October 15, 2011 in the Ajax – AZ (2-0) competition match. He has played 21 official matches to date in Ajax 1. The defender was loaned out to NAC Breda last season.

Lesly de Sa is under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2016. The forward (Woerden, April 2, 1993) was loaned out to Go Ahead Eagles last season. He made his debut in the first team on September 21, 2011, during the vv Noordwijk – Ajax (1-3) cup match. He has played in 20 official matches to date in Ajax’s first team, scoring twice.
