Ajax extends contract with 3 Ajax Reserves players

Ajax has reached an agreement with 3 Ajax Reserves players to extend their contracts.  Navajo Bakboord, Azor Matusiwa (photographed above) and Ché Nunnely signed their new contracts, which go into effect on July 1 2018 for three years until June 30, 2018, on Wednesday.

Navajo Bakboord was born on January 29, 1999, in Amsterdam, and has been playing at Ajax since 2007.  He started the season with the Ajax U19s and made his debut in professional football on December 1, 2017, in the MVV – Ajax Reserves game: 0-4.  Until now, he played in 3 games for the reserves team before suffering a knee ligament injury earlier on this year.

Ché Nunnely (Almere, February 4, 1999) has been playing in Ajax’s youth academy since 2012 and made his debut in professional football on January 13, 2017, during the FC Emmen – Ajax Reserves game: 0-0.  This season, the right winger has played in 23 games with the reserves, scoring 6 times.

Azor Matusiwa was born on April 28, 1998, in Hilversum.  He played his first game for the Ajax Reserves on November 21, 2016, away at the FC Utrecht Reserves: 2-2.  The midfielder has played 23 games for the reserves this season.  Matusiwa recently made his debut in Ajax 1’s match selection for the recent game against VVV Venlo.
