Ajax beat Ajax Cape Town

Ajax Amsterdam won their second friendly match by 3-2. Dario Cvitanich, Siem de Jong and Darko Bodul scored against Ajax Cape Town.

In the second friendly of the preseason, Ajax played against a good opponent: Ajax from Cape Town in South Africa.

Coach Martin Jol had his internationals back (only Miralem Sulejmani was a spectator) and Ajax began the match on youth complex De Toekomst very well. Luis Suarez touched to Dario Cvitanich after some great moves, but Cape Town goalkeeper Han Vonk saved. He also saved a free kick by Urby Emanuelson and a surprising attempt by Daley Blind. But he was defeated when Suarez gave Cvitanich an open chance: 1-0.

At halftime Jol replaced all his players except goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg. That meant that Eyong Enoh had to watch from the bench in the second half. Enoh, former player of Ajax Cape Town, had had a good time. ,,It was great to play against my former team mates”, he said after he had greated the Cape Town players in the dressing room. ,,We played a good match. Considering most players have only been training for a week, we did well. That is promising for the season.''

Ajax began the second half as well as they did the first. Marvin Zeegelaar crossed and Siem de Jong headed the ball in: 2-0. Eight minutes later De Jong provided the assist, and Darko Bodul lobbed the ball over Vonk

After that the Amsterdammers played a little less well and the Urban Warriors played a little beter. Atr an error by Toby Alderweireld Sifiso Vilakazi made it 3-1 and he also converted a penalty for the 3-2.
