Outstanding Younes on a roll against RB Leipzig

Ajax has ended its training camp in Portugal with a convincing win.  The Eredivisie’s number 2 team defeated the Bundesliga’s number 2 team by 5-1 on Saturday.  Amin Younes was outstanding against his countrymen.  The German scored three goals and assisted Kasper Dolberg’s goal.  Anwar El Ghazi scored Ajax’s fifth goal.

Recently promoted RB Liepzig was a formidable opponent.  The club from eastern Germany has moved through the ranks quickly in the past few years, from the fifth level in Germany all the way to the highest.  And on that stage, coach Ralph Hasenhüttl’s team has been doing exceptionally well to date, and is in second place after sixteen matches.  Only leader Bayern München did better than them during the first half of the season in the Bundesliga.

Peter Bosz sent out his customary squad against RB Liepzig.  Earlier in the day, another eleven Ajax players were defeated 1-3 by Excelsior in this same Portuguese stadium.  Mitchell Dijks scored the only Ajax goal in the first match of 2017.

Younes on a roll
The first half in the stadium which is home to third-class team FC Ferreiras resulted in three Ajax goals. Amin Younes had a hand in all of the goals scored against his fellow Germans.  He scored twice himself (1-0 and 3-0), and made one assist on the 2-0 goal.  Keeper Gulácsi slid the ball into Younes’ feet, who then gave Kasper Dolberg the perfect scoring opportunity.

After the break, Younes cheerfully continued to score.  In the first minute of the second half, he scored his third goal of the afternoon.  The German mercilessly took advantage of RB Liepzig’s shoddy defense: 4-0.

Goal El Ghazi
Midway through the second half, RB Liepzig responded through Davie Selke: 4-1.  Fifteen minutes later, Anwar El Ghazi brought the margin back to four goals.  The forward send his header from Hakim Ziyech’s free kick into the ropes: 5-1.

Resuming competition
