Ajax takes 20 players to Scotland

On Wednesday, Ajax will travel to Scotland for the UEFA Europa League match against Celtic with a selection of twenty players.  Compared to the last match against Cambuur, the injured Thulani Serero is absent from the selection.  18 year-old midfielder Donny van de Beek replaces him.  Vaclav Cerny, of the same age, is also in the group.  Moreover, Ricardo van Rhijn and third keeper Andre Onana are joining on the trip to Glasgow.

Onana and Van Rhijn both played 90 minutes during the Jupiler League PSV Reserves – Ajax Reserves (3-3) match.  Donny van de Beek also played.  With an eye on the upcoming match against Celtic, he was substituted out after one hour.  Van de Beek has previously been part of the match selection, but has not yet experienced his official debut on the first team.

Celtic – Ajax kicks off on Thursday evening at 21:05 Dutch time, in Glasgow.  The day after the duel against Celtic, a training in Scotland is on the agenda.  Ajax returns to Schiphol late on Friday afternoon.
