With seven games left, Ajax is now closer to a possible championship. They soundly defeated their competitor, PSV, in the Amsterdam ArenA: 4-1. The difference between Ajax and number two PSV is now just one point. Leader FC Twente is six points ahead of Ajax.
Ajax’s Sunday afternoon at Het Kasteel was successful all around. They soundly beat Sparta, reduced their deficit against league leader PSV, and most importantly, suffered no damage leading up to their looming showdown against PSV.

Ajax’s Sunday afternoon at Het Kasteel was successful all around. They soundly beat Sparta, reduced their deficit against league leader PSV, and most importantly, suffered no damage leading up to their looming showdown against PSV.
Ajax posted an easy victory against FC Utrecht on Sunday. Martin Jol’s team won 4-0 in the Amsterdam ArenA. Luis Suarez scored twice, and the Ajax defence kept another clean sheet at home.

Ajax goes down fighting in Europa League


Ajax’s offensive approach and focussed play didn’t deliver them the result they needed. After a scoreless return game against Juventus, Ajax is out of European football. “We missed Luis’ opportunism”, Jol pointed out the missing factor afterwards. 21-02-2010

Ajax excels against Vitesse


Ajax’s win against Vitesse on Sunday afternoon seemed like child’s play. With Siem de Jong bringing both flavour and fuel to the match, the end result in the Amsterdam ArenA was 4-0. Thanks to PSV’s loss of points (1-1 against Sparta), Ajax’s victory was twice as sweet. 19-02-2010

Strong Ajax can’t master Juventus


Ajax’s last win against Juventus was in 1974, and understandably, all of Amsterdam was hoping that it would happen again during this round of sixteen match of the UEFA Europa League. Ajax was on the right track, but Amauri’s performance was too strong for Martin Jol’s young team, who didn’t manage to keep the lead that Sulejmani had provided, 1-2. 14-02-2010

Ajax finally wins away match


After a series of less successful competition away games, Ajax finally posted a victory once again as guests. They beat SC Heerenveen 2-0 in the Abe Lenstra Stadion. Rommendahl’s and Suarez’s goals lifted Ajax to their win over the Fries team.
